Business Development Lead - Public Sector
Our client a global IT outsourcing services company is looking for a Business Development Lead for Public Sector. Rarely does a position come up which offers an opportunity to substantially expand a relatively small but a very dynamic and well-funded Business Unit whose development is the company's top priority.This is one such role.
We are looking for a Business Development Lead to drive business development and bidding process within the Public Sector (with a particular focus on Central Government).
The Practice is relatively new but has recently acquired some very substantial new accounts and there is plenty of scope (and Leadership backing) to build upon that early success further.
The position will be created at Associate Director or Director grade and offers a competitive compensation package. Reporting line is into Head of Sales UK&I.
Clients office is in London but the job may require travel around the UK.
Role and Responsibilities:-
• To build credibility and drive market share within the Public Sector in the UK & I territory
• To consultatively engage and win new business in UK&I Public Sector from net new clients
• Create and execute go to market plan to achieve quarterly and annual targets (a minimum of $3m of in-year revenue plus commensurate TCV deals).
• Generate business from campaigns and sales plans in new accounts, building a foundation to scale these into larger downstream engagements.
• To develop in-depth understanding of company's service and solutions portfolio. Design and execute an effective go-to-market strategy for developing business in UK&I Public Sector.
• Demonstrate pursuit rigour and planning by preparing and publishing appropriate and timely go-to-market plan updates, prospect communications, campaign plans, proposals, pursuit plans etc.
• Attend road shows, seminars and exhibitions.
• Provide accurate information/reports to Head of Public Sector within agreed time scales.
• Schedule and run periodic sales and performance review meetings
• Liaise closely with the company's delivery team(s), to provide pre and post-sales support and assistance as required.
• Keep up to date with customer and competitive intelligence
• Develop and manage excellent working partnerships with alliance partners and intermediaries relevant to your marketplace and services.

Experience:-
A successful & strong track record in winning new clients/logos in the Public Sector space, ideally the Central Government (not just local government).
A successful track record in achieving $15m+ annual TCV sales quotas.
Consultative sales style, creative thinking with a pragmatic approach.
Results orientated, self-starter and highly focused.
Good knowledge of the Public Sector key drivers.
Experience with onsite/offshore model and working in a multi-cultural environment.
Demonstrable experience of the Public Sector sales life cycle and the ability to build a strong pipeline and win ratio.
Experienced working collaboratively with marketing team and internal key stakeholders.
Possess excellent communication skills and demonstrates proven capability to build relationships at senior levels.
Analytical and keeps up to date with market and technology trends.
